Depression
Depression can affect how teenagers think, feel, and behave. There is a wide range of reasons why depression occurs: academic expectations, bodily changes, peer pressure, etc. Here are just a few symptoms that teens going through depression may be exhibiting:
- Lost of interest in hobbies.
- Thinking about death or suicide.
- Low self-esteem.
- Insomnia.</li
- Social isolation.
The Mayo Clinic has a more extensive list of these symptoms for you to look at. If your teen has been showing any of these signs, sit down and talk to your teen. Gently ask them about why they’re feeling this way. It’s normal to feel low every now and then, but if your teen seems to be going through this more frequently and can’t seem to manage their feelings, then it’s time to get help.
