Anxiety Disorder

It’s normal to feel some sense of anxiety when you’re taking a test or facing a big problem. With an anxiety disorder, though, it’s more than just temporary worry or fear—it doesn’t seem to go away and it can actually get worse. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, a person with a generalized anxiety disorder may:

  • Feel restless, wound up, or on edge.
  • Get easily fatigued.
  • Have difficulty concentrating.
  • Be irritable.
  • Have muscle tension.
  • Worry uncontrollably.
  • Have issues falling or staying asleep.
